Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum launched the National Strategy for Empowering People with Disabilities.
The policy aims to create an inclusive society for people with disabilities and their families, through policies and services that accommodate their needs and requirements. The National Policy for Empowering People with Disabilities revolve around 6 pillars including health and rehabilitation, education, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, mobility, Social protection and family empowerment, and public life, social and sport.
Accessability Expo– the region’s premier event dedicated to the products, services and technologies in the Disability and Rehabilitation sectors, is taking place from 7-9 November 2017 and gathers government and private organizations from various industries like infrastructure, aviation, tourism, hospitality, facilities management, technology, consumer electronics, transportation, education, healthcare and other sectors committed to providing accessible communities to persons with disabilities and supporting the UAE ambition to become an accessible country.
